Luc Potvin was a Sudbury area pioneer, lumberjack, and the prospector of the Wahnapitae Lake area.  In 1907, he and Paul Mathieu discovered gold in the Long Lake area.  His discovery led to the creation of the Long Lake Gold Mine in 1909.
