Walden's history began long before the development of the land.  Through the efforts of the Hudson's Bay Company and eventually the early settlers who tamed the land, Walden (along with its surrounding settlements) has become a thriving community that caters to the needs of every citizen.  Recreational activities and spiritual fulfillment ensure the community stays active and healthy, while local businesses provide the necessities of life for area residents.

With the creation of the City of Greater Sudbury in 2001, the Town of Walden has grown to become one of the more popular residential communities within our city.
