Soccer Finds a Home in Sudbury

Senior level soccer continued to thrive in Sudbury and in the late 1960's and 1970's, minor league play began to build a following.  By the 1980's, the North American Soccer League was established, giving young soccer players the opportunity to become professional soccer players.

Soccer continues to generate a large following with membership levels on the rise.  From its early beginnings of mostly European players to today's largely Canadian participation, soccer has become one of the most widely played summer sports in Greater Sudbury.
