Skead and Bowland's Bay are two closely tied communities whose history has paralleled each other since the establishment of both settlements.

Throughout its history, the residents of Skead have developed a church, two schools, sports facilities, and a variety of business enterprises, all of which have helped the town to grow into the wonderful community that it is today.  The people of Skead are known for their warmth, compassion, and their willingness to lend a hand; making Skead one of the most welcoming communities in which to live.
