1912 - 1921

In 1912, fire once again destroyed stores and a dozen houses located on Main and Errington Streets in Chelmsford.

With the Declaration of the First World War on August 4, 1914, fourteen soldiers from Rayside Balfour prepared for combat.

In 1918, the Spanish flu, also known as the 'werewolf', was responsible for the death of many people in the region.
